It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Ruth Irene Soderquist, March 16, 2026, at age 95, with family by her side. Ruth was born November 17, 1930, in Dighton, MI, to Loyd and Florence (Covey) Cleveland. Ruth graduated from Cadillac High School, and soon after married James Soderquist. In 1955 Ruth and James moved to Allegan where they raised four boys. When the boys were young, she was a stay-at-home mom, as the boys got older, she worked at Riverside Market, and later in a respiratory therapy clinic at the Allegan General Hospital. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, and then ceramics. Having a kiln in her basement, teaching classes, and enjoying special times with family and friends.

Ruth is survived by her children, Terry, Jeff (Sandi), Mike, David (Sandy); grandchildren. Diana (Brandon) Taylor, Brian, Renae (Jeff) Morrie, Tony, Eric, Erica (Doug) Mandrick, Sara and Emily Soderquist; and ten great-grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in passing by her parents, beloved husband James, and two brothers and three sisters.

Through her wishes Ruth has been cremated, the family will have a celebration of life to be announced at a later date.
