of Gun Lake, died Thursday, February 13, 2014, at the Pennock Hospital in Hastings. Ruth was born July 25, 1934, in Dorr Twp., the daughter of John and Geneva (Harnish) Schumaker. Ruth attended St's. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Shelbyville. She was a rural route mail carrier in the Shelbyville area for many years. Surviving are her husband, Robert, 4 children, Dan and Charlotte Weick, Debra and James Brenner, Thomas and Christine Weick, Nancy and Russell Compagner, 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, her brother, Jim and Ann Schumaker, 3 sisters, Marilyn Swiontek, Theresa and Bud DeVries, Gerie and Daryl Fleser, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday, February 16, 2014, from 5-8 pm, at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, where funeral services will be held at 11 am Monday. Fr. Christian Johnston will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Wings of Hope Hospice, 530 Linn St., Allegan, MI 49010. Private interment at Poplar Hill Cemetery, Monterey Twp.
