of Allegan, formerly of Fennville, died Thursday, December 16, 2010, at the Allegan County Medical Care Facility. Mrs. Metz was born February 24, 1924, in Martin, the daughter of Conrad and Anna (Buist) Haveman. Ruth graduated from Martin High School and Butterworth School of Nursing, and had worked for several local Dr.'s in the South Haven area. She had attended both the Reformed Church in Fennville, and First Reformed Church in Zeeland. Surviving are her 5 children; Rosanne and Ken Ferguson of MN, John and Mary Metz of AZ, Don and Jacqueline Metz of Allegan, Joyce and Scott Miser and Marilyn Metz all of FL, 6 grandchildren; Carrie, Jordan, Michael, Steven, Matthew and Katherine, 4 great grandchildren; Kaylee, Hannah, Nathan and Jack, 2 brothers; Carl and Mina Haveman of Martin, and Lawrence Haveman of IL, 3 sisters; Evelyn Skippers of Jenison, Crystal Rook of Plainwell, and Helen and Ray DeVries of Holland, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sid, and 3 sisters; Marjorie, Laura and Bernice. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday for hour prior to the service at 2 pm, at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Pastor Fred Perry will officiate. Private interment at Fennville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Allegan County Medical Care Facility.
