Ruth Elaine Town, 74 of Allegan, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Resthaven Care Center in Holland, Michigan. Born February 24, 1948 in Allegan, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Vern and Betty (Crisman) Christman and the wife of the late Howard L. Town. Ruth spent her life as a homemaker, providing a beautiful and loving home for her family. She was a concerned and caring mother who always put her family before her own wellbeing. Spending time with those she loved brought her great happiness and created wonderful memories to cherish. Ruth is survived by her son, Clayton VanHorn; daughter, Betty (Edwin) Kortman; siblings, Butch (Marge) Christman, Kay (Mark) Harvey, Danny Christman, and Randy Christman; five grandchildren, Cotty Foster, Conner Foster, Shawn VanHorn, Jessica VanHorn, and Amanda Velduis; and her great-grandchildren, Issac, Carson, and Grace Foster, Billy and Aria VanHorn, Elaina Veldhuis, Christopher Covey and Maryea Truesdell; and great-great-grandson, Callahan Still. Along with her husband and her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her son, Billy VanHorn; her siblings, David, Cecil, Dawn, Betsy, and Mickey; and one grandson, Cole Foster. The family will meet with friends at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, on Thursday, September 1, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at which time the funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM.
