of Allegan, died Monday, October 17, 2011. Age 85 years. Ruby Irene Coffey was born March 25, 1926, the daughter of the late Ernest and Alice (Barber) Coffey. She worked as a nurses aid for the Allegan County Medical Care Facility for 43 years. She was a member of Burnips Wesleyan Church. She was married to Clare Rutgers; he preceded her in death on November 11, 1997. Surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by six sisters, Ada, Ellen, Dena, Emma, Viola and Luvena; two brothers, Marion and Lewis. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the Burnips Wesleyan Church. Pastor Steve Jones and Pastor William Osborne will officiate. Interment will take place at Poplar Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Burnips Wesleyan Church.
