Allegan, MI, formerly of Kalamazoo, died Thursday, June 9, 2005 at Allegan General Hospital. Mr. Scott was born February 21, 1921 in Elkhart, IN, the son of Macy and Iva (Christner) Scott. He was a 1938 graduate of State High School, Kalamazoo and had attended Western Michigan University for 2 years. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the U.S. Army. He had been employed at James River in Kalamazoo for 43 years, retiring in 1983 and had been a member of Sunnyside United Methodist Church, Kalamazoo. Surviving are his wife, Patricia (Bartlett); 5 children, George and Judy Wahr Scott of Wisconsin, Michael Scott and Joseph Scott, both of Georgia, Sara Scott of Martin, and Amy and Dean Evink of Allegan, formerly of Otsego; 6 grandchildren, Bob (Brenda) Scott, Peggy (Brian) Lockwood, Jessy, Richie, Erin, and Cory; 8 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Phyllis Scott of Kalamazoo; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Scott and sister Lois Vandefifer. Memorial services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Sunnyside United Methodist Church, 2800 Gull Rd., Kalamazoo. Rev. Billie Dalton officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Lung Association or Sunnyside United Methodist Church.
