UNDERWOOD, Rose A. Age 83, of Allegan, died Wednesday, April 3, 2002 at the Allegan General Hospital. Mrs. Underwood was born Sept. 28, 1918 in Grout Twp., Gladwin Co., the daughter of Alden B. and Josephine (Webb) Fronefield. She was a longtime member of the Allegan Christian Center. She was a graduate of the Saginaw General Hospital Nursing Program in 1939 and had been a public health nurse for Gladwin, Livingston and Allegan Counties. She then went on to work for the State of Michigan as a field representative for Crippled Childrens. Surviving are 2 children, Fran Raab of Allegan and Sam Underwood of Battle Creek; 2 grandchildren, Vicki (Paul) Knuckles and Jewell Bazan; 6 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 1 brother. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 4, from 6-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Funeral services were held Friday, April 5, at the Allegan Christian Center at 2:00 pm. Pastor Lester Putney officiated. Interment Highland Cemetery, Gladwin, MI.
