Rosa Francisca Bazan, 81, passed away on January 4, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on September 4, 1942 in Laredo TX, the daughter of Geronimo and Isabel Hernandez. After Rosa and her late husband Joe settled in Allegan, they joined the Blessed Sacrament Church where Rosa continued to be a faithful member for over 60 years.
Rosa worked for over 32 years in various positions throughout the Allegan Public Schools Systems. During the summer months while she was not in school, Rosa worked with the Migrant Program in Fennville. Rosa was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her three children, Belinda Bloch, Eduardo (Alisa) Bazan and Jose` (Rebecca) Bazan; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; aunts and uncles; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; her brother, Zeferino (Lydia) Hernandez; and her longtime friend, Anthony Christman. Rosa is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jose` P. Bazan Jr. of 27 years; her brother, Lorenzo Hernandez; and her sisters, Guadalupe Prado and Esperanza Pena.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, Allegan. Visitation at the church will begin one hour before mass. Burial will be in Blessed Sacrament Church Cemetery. Family and friends are encouraged to stay for a luncheon after the funeral. Memorial donations can be made in Rosa's memory to Blessed Sacrament Church's Scholarship Program (110 N. Cedar Street, Allegan, MI 49010). Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements.
