Ronald Eugene Oetman, 78, of Grand Rapids, MI passed away Monday, June 23, 2025, at the Michigan Veteran Homes at Grand Rapids.  Born June 21, 1947, in Holland, MI, he was the son of the late Gerrit John and Irene Joyce (Boerman) Oetman.  Ronald was a proud veteran having served honorably in the United States Army.

Ronald is survived by his brother, David (Sandy) Oetman; sister, Diane Groh; niece and nephews, Kacey Snyder, Jeff Sousley, Kristofer Oetman, Kevin Oetman and Jerid Harwood; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and the kind staff members and friends at the VA home that were truly like family.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Judith Cates and brother in-law Daniel Groh; and his nephew, Ryan Harwood.

Ronald's family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staffs of the Michigan Veteran Homes and the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center for the wonderful care they provided over the last seventeen years.

A celebration of Ronald's life will take place on Friday, July 11, 2025, at The Silo 1071 32nd Street, Allegan, MI 49010, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM.  He will be laid to rest in Hudson Corners Cemetery.  Contributions in Ronald's memory may be made to Michigan Veteran Homes at Grand Rapids 2950 Monroe Avenue NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505.
