of Grand Junction, died Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at the Holland Community Hospital. Mr. Brant was born March 17, 1951 in Kalamazoo, the son of Barney and Arlene (Klug) Brant. Ron graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1969. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, having served in Vietnam. He was a member of the DAV in Holland, and the VFW Post 6134 in Pullman and served as the Post Adjutant. Ron worked for the Dept. of Natural Resources as a Ranger in the Allegan State Game Area for the past 20 years. Surviving are his wife Ruth, 3 children, Sally and William VanDine of Saugatuck, Tom and Becky Brower of Hamilton and Melissa Brant of Saugatuck, 5 grandchildren, Arlene, James, Fredrick, Isaac and Gracie, 3 brothers, Gary Brant of Nevada, Mike Metz and Allen and Karen Metz all of Sodus, 2 sisters, Kimberly Brant of Wisconsin and Susan and Mike Smith of North Carolina, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Brant. Friends may meet with the family on Friday from 6-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 am. Military Chaplain John Neese will officiate. Military Honors will be conducted at Lee Cemetery in Lee Twp. by the Otsego VFW Post 3030. Memorials may be made to the VFW Post 6134 in Pullman.
