Trowbridge Twp., Allegan, MI, died Monday, April 9, 2007 at his home. Mr. Baughman was born March 17, 1933 in Wayland Twp., the son of Delmore and Eula (Syers) Baughman. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. He had been employed at Checker Motors in Kalamazoo for 15 years and at General Motors in Kalamazoo for 30 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of the American Legion and the 40/8. Surviving are 8 children, Randy and Carrie Green of Otsego, Linda and Ricardo Benavides of Bear Lake, Sherry and Bill Harrison, Sheila and Bob Teachout, Ronald Baughman, Rodney and Cookie Baughman and Steven and Denise Dedrich, all of Allegan, and Christine Baughman of Lansing; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; mother, Eula Baughman of Wayland; 2 sisters, Doris and Bill Parker of Byron Center and Freda Schwab of Wayland; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Addie, in 2006; father, Delmore, and 2 best friends, Jim Dedrich and Don Hall. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.. Thursday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. Pastor Pete Terburg officiating. Interment Mallory Cemetery, Trowbridge Twp., with military graveside services by the Otsego V.F.W. Post #3030. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc. or the Allegan Sports Boosters.
