HOP, Roger Edwin Aged 76, of Hopkins, MI, went to be with his Lord Monday, October 20, 2003. Mr. Hop was born November 28, 1926 in Jamestown, MI, the son of John and Elizabeth (Beek) Hop. He will be remembered for his quick, mischievous grin, and a love for the land and farming. His example of hard work and humility will long be exemplified in his children and grandchildren. We will miss his presence terribly, but know that he will be singing with the chorus of heaven. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Joann (Wiers); their 4 daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and David Van Rhee of Middleville, Sue and Larry Gras of Zeeland, Judy and Steve Reynolds, and Pam and Ron Jones, all of Hopkins; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Hopkins Community Reformed Church. Pastor Stan Vugteveen officiating. Interment Forest Grove Cemetery, Jamestown Twp., MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hopkins Community Reformed Church Building Fund.
