Roger Allen Healy passed with family by his side on August 5, 2026, in Otsego, MI. He was born to his late parents Marshall and Elaine (Russon) Healy on November 26, 1949, in Allegan, MI. Roger was drafted into the Army as an 11B Infantryman during Vietnam, during his combat service he attained the following medals; National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, 2 Overseas Bars, M-14 Sharpshooter, and M-16 Sharpshooter. Roger served his country and brothers in arms for his two service terms honorably. After his military career, he married Karen (Ellis) Annerino and then Anita (McKerchie) Sweeter. He was a supervisor at Perrigo and then moved over to truck driving before early retirement due to a work accident. Roger also served on the Hopkins Fire Department for many years. Outside of work he loved going for motorcycle rides, camping, hanging out with his friends, watching the show Gunsmoke, and helping people in need. He loved to go around as a handman to anyone that needed assistance. Roger was faithful every Veteran’s Day for his free breakfast. Another joy of his was taking a road trip with his camper and Harley down to Scottsdale Arizona to visit his siter Barbara Melberg. Roger loved serving his friends and community whenever he could. The Army instilled within him the duty to take care of the people beside you, and he did that well.

He is survived by his children, Rebecca (Matt) Miller, Sarah (Chris) Roberts, Diane (Jesse) Gilbert, Tiffany (Tony) Troher, and Rachael (Ryan) Covey; sister, Barbara (Roger) Melberg; grandchildren, Spencer Miller, Sophia Miller, Lily (DJ) Laws, Anthony Laws, Jeffrey Laws, Tristan Roberts, Lauren Healy, Ehtan Berry, Lila Berry and Callie Covey; great-grandson Flynn; and great niece and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marsha (Healy) Hill.

Roger's funeral will be on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at 12:00 PM with two-hours visitation beforehand from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, 208 West Main Street, Hopkins, MI 49328. Graveside at 2:00 PM with Army Honors at Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 W Dickman Road, Augusta, MI 49012.
