Obituary

Roger E. Borst. 66, of Trowbridge Township, passed away Friday, August 26, 2016 at his home. Mr. Borst was born May 13, 1950 in Allegan, Michigan, the son of Earl and Betty (Wiley) Borst. He was an Allegan High School Class of 1968 graduate. He was also a United States Veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. After his service in the military, he came home and owned and operated his own trucking business. During the past several years, he worked for Don Cook at Cook Equipment. Roger loved vehicles and his most treasured vehicle was his bike. Spending time out riding was probably his favorite pastime activity. Roger was a friendly and caring person who enjoyed lending a hand, especially if it meant working on cars, trucks, bikes or other equipment. Roger is survived by his mother, Betty Borst; one sister, Jackie and Rich Rimkus; one niece, Erica and Ted Stender; one nephew, Justin and Maria Oram; two great-nieces: Elli Stender and Adrian and Andis Wheeldryer; two great-nephews: Seth Stender and Grant Stender; one great-grandniece, Hailey Wheeldryer; one great-grandnephew, Remington Wheeldryer. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Borst. There will be a private graveside service at a later date. Interment will be at Mallory Cemetery, Trowbridge Township.
