Obituary

age 89, passed quietly at 5:15 P.M. on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was born November 14, 1925 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter of Frank and Olga (Westness) Fastenrath. Robin was a dear wife, and "not so typical" housewife, mother and grandmother. Robin was known for many things, a few of them would be: her refusal to dissect a frog in college, ultimately causing her to transfer to what is now Western Michigan University; her contribution in establishing the Barn Theatre of Augusta, Michigan; her ten years working as office manager and columnist for the Pawling News Chronicle in New York; spending most of her life enjoying her 68 wonderful years of marriage to Joe and raising her children with their grandchildren; concentrating on her education; as well as her love for the local theatre. Robin is survived by her beloved husband Joe; her children: Laurel Striedinger, Joseph Stockdale III, David Stockdale, John Stockdale, Larkin Walsh; her six grandchildren; and her five great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother James Fastenrath. A private interment was held at Trowbridge Cemetery, Allegan County, Michigan. In Lieu of flowers or donations, the family asks you to celebrate her life as you knew her. Arrangements are being made by Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel.
