Robert E.Washburn, Hopkins, died Saturday, February 12, 2005 at his home. Mr. Washburn was born April 26, 1930 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of Vern & Bernice (Spahn) Washburn. Bob graduated from Hopkins High School, Class of 1948. On August 29, 1961 he married Ethel Miller who survives. He was a life member of the Hopkins Community Reformed Church, and farmed in the area all his life. Also surviving are his 3 children; Larry & Sheila Washburn, Kathy & Mark Hilaski and Bill & Lisa Washburn all of Hopkins, 9 grandchildren and several cousins. Friends may meet with the family on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 am. Pastor Mark Kamper will officiate. Interment Maplewood Cemetery, Hopkins Twp. Memorials may be made to the Church Building Fund.
