of Allegan, died Saturday, November 7, 2009 at his home. Mr. Tremaine was born October 22, 1929, in Allegan, the son of Vernon M. and Viva M. (Porter) Tremaine. He served in the Army Corp. of Engineers for 6 years, and was a general contractor in the Allegan area for over 55 years. On June 9, 1952, Robert married Lauretta Pergande, who survives, 4 children, Lou Ann Cook of Otsego, Janet and Charles Johnson of Shelbyville, Carol and Roger Crisman and Joy and Alan Jeffries all of Allegan, 3 grandchildren, Carmen, Alex and Luke, 1 great granddaughter, Logan Marie, 2 sisters, Mildred Hodge of Allegan and Betty Brown of Hastings, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his 2 brothers, Coral and Harold, and 2 sisters, Francis Tremaine and Lorna Dunford. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 1 pm at Oakwood Cemetery in Allegan. Pastor Barry Lucas will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Allegan Food Pantry. Arrangements by the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel.
