Allegan, MI, went to be with his Lord, Thursday, February 8, 2007. Mr. Szabo was born September 23, 1937 in Majestic, KY, the son of Joseph and Anna (Flagg) Szabo. He was a member of Christ Community Church. He worked for Meade Paper Co. in the Detroit area during the late 60's thru the mid 70's, and then worked for Winchester Steel in Allegan from 1978-1997. For the past 10 years, he has been employed by Kruger Commodities. Surviving are his wife, Joyce; 6 children, Robert and Tina Szabo of Canada, James Szabo of Florida, Kerri McGuire of South Carolina, Lisa and Jeff Hopkins of Allegan, Darron and Amy Morey of Allegan and Dustin and Jennifer Morey of Wisconsin; 14 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Joseph and Rose Szabo of Monroe; 2 sisters, Lois Marie New of Livonia and Elizabeth Ann Stump of Plymouth; several nieces and nephews. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Christ Community Church in Allegan. Pastor G. Patrick White will officiate. Interment Poplar Hill Cemetery, Monterey Twp. Memorials may be made to Christ Community Church.
