Allegan, MI, died Saturday, March 7, 2009 in Florida. Mr. Ollis was born July 8, 1935 in Palestine, AR, the son of Noble and Naomi (Dudley) Ollis. He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Allegan, the Allegan Elks and the Moose Lodge in Florida. He was a master carpenter and had been employed as manager of Hines Lumberyard in Mokena, IL, working all his life with lumber. Surviving are his wife, Kathleen (Jones); his 4 children, Juli and Dan Kornmeyer of Novi, Mike Ollis of Troy, David and Diane Ollis of Washington, and Sarah Scott of Howell; 2 stepchildren, Drew and Susanne Hickey of New Lenox, IL and Jennifer Gutilla of Chicago; 5 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 1 sister, Nadine VanEvery of Bloomfield Hills; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may meet with the family from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where a Scripture Service will be held at 5:15 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Alan P. Jorgensen, Celebrant. Interment Blessed Sacrament Cemetery, Allegan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to University of Michigan Cancer Center of the Salvation Army.
