Robert Meunier, 84, of Allegan, died Wednesday March 17, 2021 at his home. He was born May 28th, 1936, in Allegan, the son of Arthur and Louise (Huppe) Meunier.
On December 3, 1960, in Allegan, Robert married Joyce (Oisten) who preceded him in death.
In the early years, Robert was a cook in the US Army. After the military, he worked at Rockwell International as a machinist during the day and at The Grill as a cook at night. Later during his early retirement years, he worked as a mechanic at Twin City Tire in Plainwell. He loved working with wood and making trunks. He enjoyed visiting neighbors and friends, picking up any cans and bottles (he donated the money to local kids to further their education) found along his path while on his golf cart. He also donated his time to the local food banks and pantries for many years.
He is survived by his two sons, Dean Meunier and Jonathan Meunier; and one daughter, Tressie (James) Timerman; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his brother, Carl (Darlene) Meunier; and his sister, Evelyn Budinski; and many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son James Meunier; his sisters, Shirley, Helen, Rose and Kate; and his brothers, Harper, George, and Arthur.
