Obituary

Robert M. Hiscock , Allegan, died Thursday, August 25, 2005 at the Allegan General Hospital. Mr. Hiscock was born September 26, 1924 in Allegan, the son of Harry & Leah (Van Patten) Hiscock. Mr. Hiscock was a Veteran of the United States Army, having served in World War II, he was a member of the American Legion, life member of the Elks, and years ago was a reserve deputy with the Allegan County Sheriff Dept. On November 20, 1946 Bob married Arline Sebright, who survives. Bob has owned and operated Hiscock Welding & Towing for over 50 years, he also ran the Ambulance service in Allegan for 20 years. Surviving along with his wife are 5 children; Gwen & Norman Arndt, Diane & Danny Barrett, Steve & Julie Hiscock, David & Sue Hiscock and Georgia Hiscock all of Allegan, 11 grandchildren, Jeanne Parker, Jenny & Chad VanHorn, April & Ray Hitchcock, Sam & Sheri Hiscock, Jason Clark, Dustin & Christina Barrett, Jon & Sally Hiscock, Josh Clark, Mike Hiscock, Leah Hiscock and Adam Hughes, 12 great grandchildren, 1 brother Elton & Rachel Hiscock of Portage, 1 sister, Alice Welch of Douglas, several nieces, nephews & cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother Lyle. Friends may meet with the family from 3-5 pm on Sunday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where the funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 am. Pastor Chad Nightingale and Mr. Les Tooman will officiate. Interment will take place in Oakwood Cemetery, Allegan at a later date. Memorials may be made to Dollars for Scholars.
