age 61, of Allegan, passed away Monday, January 18, 2016 in Allegan. Mr. Leslie was born in Mishawaka, Indiana, on October 2, 1954, the son of William and Ruth (Hemminger) Leslie. Robert, known to many as "Bubba," was a graduate of Plainwell High School. For the last 15 years, he has owned and operated Bubba's Sports Bar in downtown Allegan, a favorite of the locals. In his spare time, Bubba enjoyed spending time outside. Some of his favorite activities were camping, fishing, hunting, golfing and participating in a game of softball. He was also a long-time member of the Eagles. Bubba was a friend to many and willing to lend a hand whenever needed. He will be remembered fondly and missed greatly. Bubba is survived by his companion of 15 years, Joann Gilligan; two sons: Robert Allen Leslie Jr. and Scott Allen Leslie; two grandchildren: Carter and Colin; his mother: Ruth and Tom Spross; and two step-sisters: Cheryl Reash and Lisa Spross. A memorial gathering will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 13th at the Eagles in Allegan (110 Chestnut Street) to celebrate Bubba's life and share memories.
