Allegan, MI, died Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at his home. Mr. Knowlton was born July 13, 1934 in Dunningville, Michigan, the son of William and Mary (Cooley) Knowlton. He had worked for Valley Metal in Plainwell for more than 10 years and then went to work for Baker Furniture in Holland for 30 years, retiring in 1997. Surviving are his wife, Patricia (Taggart); 3 children, Robert and Norma Knowlton of Hopkins, Lucinda Knowlton of Allegan, and Patti and Steve Counterman of Otsego; 8 grandchildren, Michael Paul, Stacy Marie, Chad and Georjeane, Travis, Margaret, Wendy and Joe, Benjie, and Jeremy; 7 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Mary Thompson of Arkansas; several nephews. He was preceded in death by his great grandson and his nephew. Friends may meet with the family from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 4 p.m. Mr. Steven Smail officiating.
