Obituary

age 79, of Allegan, passed away December 19, 2014 in Plainwell, Michigan. He was born February 6, 1935 in Allegan, Michigan, the son of Leo and Helen (Walker) Hitchcock. Robert graduated from Allegan High School in 1953. He retired from the Allegan County Road Commission where he worked for 35 years. Robert is survived by his children: Kathy Grauman, Debra (Gary) Binda, Ted (Sheila) Hitchcock, Judith (Tom) Kendall, Doug (Diana) Hitchcock; his step-son Jim (Joyce) Visser; his fourteen grandchildren; his twenty-one great-grandchildren; his brothers: Louis (Laura) Hitchcock, Don Hitchcock, Floyd (Annie) Hitchcock, Bill (Pat) Hitchcock, Ken (Diane) Hitchcock; his sister Nancy (Freddie Flint) Gewiss; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rea, his son Tim, his daughter Helen, his brothers Gerald and Merle, and his sister Alice. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, December 22, 2014 from 6-8:00 P.M. at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. The Funeral will be December 23, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. also at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Pastor G Patrick White will be officiating. Interment is at Millgrove Cemetery, Valley Township. Memorial Contributions may be made to: American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, Virginia 22312. Arrangements are being made by Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel.
