Robert Karl Germain Sr., age 78, of Allegan, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2016 in Allegan, Michigan. Mr. Germain was born on October 11, 1937 in Plainwell, Michigan to the late Karl and Christine (Brower) Germain. After graduating high school, Robert proudly served in the USA National Guard. He then spent 27 years working for the Eaton Corporation and about 20 years with the Allegan County Road Commission. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Carol; their children: Jackie and Craig vanMelle and Rob Germain; four grandchildren: Jared, Betsy, Greg and Gavin; two great-grandchildren: Ruby and Josiah; and long-time friends, Rodney and Tippy Overbeek. He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Armstrong. A private graveside service will be held at Hudson Corners Cemetery at a later date.
