Obituary

Allegan Twp., MI, died Sunday, April 12, 2009 at Ely Manor, Allegan. Mr. Dailey was born June 2, 1928 in Allegan, the son of Edwin and Margaret (Mabes) Dailey. His friends called him "MacGyver", because he could fix anything. He didn't care too much about money, or material things, but his word to his friends was as good as gold. He had an understanding and awareness of the physical world around him. He could go in the garage and fix or build anything. His family said he had a natural doctorate degree in practical engineering and application, whether it was electrical, metallurgy, chemistry, or medical - whatever it took to be self-sufficient. He dedicated many years of his life to his ill wife, Jean, who preceded him in death. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family. Surviving are 2 sons and their wives, Dean and Gracie Dailey of Kalamazoo and Jack and Stella Dailey of Hopkins; 2 grandchildren, Amy and Josh; 3 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Peggy Weaver of Allegan; 1 nephew, Randy and Becky Weaver of Allegan, and Bob's dog, Lobo. He was also preceded in death by his niece, Sheryl Frazee. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel.
