Obituary

Allegan, MI, died Saturday, May 19, 2007 in Grand Rapids. Mr. Creech was born March 11, 1943 in Oil City, Michigan, the son of Benjamin and Clara (Grace) Creech. He graduated from Allegan High School in 1961. He was a member of the Allegan United Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge in Bloomingdale. He worked for Eaton in Kalamazoo for more than 19 years, he then went to work with his son Bill doing construction for 10 years. He helped get the Allegan T-Ball organized. Bob and his family felt very blessed to have been a recipient of a kidney, from a family in California, through the organ donation program. They wanted everyone to know how much that has meant to their family. Robert loved his family and cherished every extra minute with them, and especially his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Alice, whom he married June 28, 1963; 4 children, Bill and Teresa of Allegan, Laura Weaver of Gobles, Mike and Carol of Ann Arbor and Matt Creech and Andrea Metzer of Plainwell; 7 grandchildren; 1 brother, Theo and Jan Creech of Nebraska; 2 sisters, Cathy and Larry Lancaster of Weidman and Judy and Jim Leestma of Negaunee; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by 1 brother, Benjamin Sherman Creech Jr., 2 infant sisters, Patricia Ann and Betty Lou and his infant brother, Wayne Lee. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Allegan. Pastor Joseph Spackman officiating. Interment Hudson Corners Cemetery, Allegan Twp. Memorials may be made to Renal Advantage on Clyde Park in Grand Rapids, envelopes available through the Funeral Home.
