Allegan, MI, died Friday, September 15, 2006 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. Mr. Arthur was born January 24, 1928 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of William and Leda (Gauls) Arthur. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during World War II. He retired from Checker Motors in Kalamazoo after 32 years of service. Surviving are 5 children, Margaret Arthur of Kalamazoo, Robert and Winnie Arthur, Timothy and Kimberly Arthur, Kenneth and Michele Arthur and James and Stephanie Arthur all of Allegan; 5 grandchildren, Tammy, Carleigh, Seth, Blair and Damien; 3 great grandchildren, James, Samantha and Wyatt; 1 sister, Nellie Miller of Allegan; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife Joan, granddaughter, Michelle, brother, Bill, and sister Dorothy. Friends may meet with the family from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Miner Cemetery, Watson Twp. Pastor G. Patrick White officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Assoc. or American Cancer Society.
