age 68, from Hopkins, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Blodgett Hospital, Grand Rapids. She was born January 9, 1946 in Plainwell, Michigan, the daughter of Albert "Todd" and Thelda (Jackson) Strobel. Rita was a bus driver and playground assistant for the Hopkins Public Schools for 32 years. Rita is survived by her children: Babbette Schumaker, Rick (Mary) Mudget, Tracie (Steve) Naylor; her grandchildren: Samantha, Joshua, Ashley, Rachel, Weston, David, Kyley; her brothers: Richard Strobel, Mike (Nancy) Strobel; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband Roger C Weick, her parents, and her sister-in-law Kathy Strobel. Friends may meet with the family for a Remembrance Gathering from 6-8:00 P.M. on Monday, January 20, 2014 at Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel. The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 also at Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel. Comer Skinner will be officiating. Inurnment is at Maplewood Cemetery, Hopkins Township. Arrangements are being made by Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel.
