Rickey Claude Schafer, 53 Hopkins lost his battle against Glioblastoma Brain Cancer surrounded by Family on March 21, 2026. Rick was born to his late parents, Floyd and Dawn (Christman) Schafer on May 20, 1972, in Allegan Michigan. Rick was a jack of all trades - driving trucks, hauling/operating heavy equipment, and working for local farmers. Outside of work, Rick enjoyed spending time with family, horses, motorcycles, snowmobiles, and the local Allegan County Fair.

He is survived by his only child, Jennifer (Dylan) Guillozet, grandchildren Daelyn and Theodore. Former spouse Vicki Swainston of over 20 years. Siblings LouAnn (Frank) Collins, Russell Schafer, and Steven Schafer. Nieces; Jessica Schafer and Erica Collins. Nephews; RJ Schafer, Dylan (Izzy) Schafer, Devin (Sydney) Schafer, Josh Schafer, Tyler Schafer, Brandon (Amanda) Collins, their children, many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be entrusted to Jennifer Guillozet for the future education of Rick’s grandchildren.
