Richard M. Yale, age 90 of Allegan, MI, died Thursday, October 16, 2003 at the Allegan General Hospital. Mr. Yale was born February 20, 1913 in Herkimer, NY, the son of C. Leroy and Nettie (Richards) Yale. He was a graduate of Albany College of Pharmacy and Columbia University. He was a pharmaceutical salesman retiring in 1978. Prior to moving to Allegan in 1971, he was very involved in the Central Methodist Church in downtown Detroit, serving as an usher and trustee from 1940-1971. He was a charter member of Christ Community Church of Allegan and a leading person in getting the church started. He was very active in the Allegan Community, serving as a member of the TIFA Board, The Brownfield Development, the Allegan County United Way, and was one of the original members of the Economic Development Corp. He loved organ music, playing golf and repairing old clocks. Surviving are his wife, Ann (Schmitz), whom he married on Aug. 19, 1939 in Cincinnati, OH; 2 daughters, Bonnie and George Meanor of Pittsburgh, PA and Susan Yale of Ann Arbor; 2 grandchildren, Richard Yale (Lisa) Miller and Katherine (Rick) Miller-Dworak, all of Pittsburgh, PA; 4 great grandchildren, Austin, Nicholas, Natalie and Nolan; 1 niece, Margaret Stevens of Texas. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Emily and Ruth. A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Community Church on Sunday, November 2, 2003 at 2:00 pm. Rev. G. Patrick White officiating.
