of Allegan. Died Sunday, October 16, 2011. Age 53 years. He was born August 21, 1958 in New Bern, North Carolina, the son of Dick Thorpe and Grace (Tuttle) Thorpe. He graduated from Allegan High School in 1977. He worked for the Flashes in Allegan for several years. He enjoyed working with wood. He loved to be out west where he had spent time at a resort, working in hospitality. Surviving are three daughters, Alex Thorpe of California, Bryn (Joe Pearson) Thorpe of Plainwell and Clarice Thorpe of Allegan; two grandchildren, Claira and Joseph; his father, Dick Thorpe of Allegan; his mother, Grace Thorpe of Allegan; one brother, Randy (Jamie) Thorpe of Allegan; and one sister, Lori Sisson of Allegan. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where a memorial service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Gary Napp will officiate. Memorials may be made for Rick's children, payable to Dick Thorpe.
