Obituary

Midland, MI, passed away, surrounded by his family, Saturday, February 16, 2008 at Metron of Allegan. Mr. Stapleton was born January 5, 1944 in Highland Park, the son of Edward and Janice (Richardson) Stapleton. He had been a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during Viet Nam. He had been employed as a librarian and media specialist for 28 years at the Adam's Elementary School in Midland. Surviving are 2 sisters and 1 brother and their spouses, Alisa and Ed Bazan of Allegan, Mary Margaret and Bob Morris of Kalamazoo, and Ned and Estrella Stapleton of Falls Church, VA; nieces and nephews, Lauren, Hannah and Andrea Bazan, Sarah Morris, Jordan-Patrick and Gabriela Stapleton, Todd Topolka, and Tanya Topolka-Moore. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Patricia Topolka. Friends may meet with the family from 6-8 p.m. Monday, at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Alan P. Jorgensen, Celebrant. Interment Blessed Sacrament Cemetery, Allegan. Memorial contributions may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice or the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
