of Allegan, died Saturday, August 25, 2012, at his home. Mr. Gant was born April 28, 1927, in Chicago, the son of Edward and Hester Gant. Surviving are his 6 children; Linda, Darnell, Debra, Mark, Richard Jr., and Eleanor, many grand and great grandchildren, his brother, Harold and Ernestine Gant, 3 sisters; Mildred and Angus Laird, Rev. Harriett and Bill Portrum, Betty and Rev. Monroe White, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Marion, sister, Mary, and 4 brothers; Leonard, Edward, Charles, and Carl. Friends may meet with the family on Thursday, August 30, from 12 noon till service time at 2 pm at the Grace Temple Church in Allegan. Interment Oakwood Cemetery, Allegan.
