Richard Nelson Dame, Sr., 65, of Allegan, MI passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019 at his home. Born November 4, 1953 in Windsor, Canada, he was the son of the late Nelson Joseph Dame, Sr. and Marilyn Joyce (McBrien) Dame and was the husband of Victoria Leigh (Kleinbrink) Dame. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Terri Dame. Mr. Dame was retired from Grand Rapids Freight Handlers and recently worked part-time as a Range Safety Officer for Centershot Gun Range in Dorr. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Chad (Janna) Dame, Jennifer (David) Emmons, Richard (Karen) Dame, Jr. and Danielle (Shawn) Gorman; siblings, David (Deb) Dame, Nora (Dave) Johnson, Colleen (Denny) Marhugh, Mary (Bill) Lutke, Nelson (Sonya) Dame, Dan Dame, Dennis (Reynell) Dame and Ed (Sue) Dame; grandchildren, Kurtis, Travis, Gabbie, Garrett, Livia, Sophia, Ethan, Noah, Luke and Lydia; great-grandson, Dawson; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, on Thursday, April 11, 2019 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and again from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A memorial mass will take place on Friday, April 12, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to The Wounded Warrior Project are suggested.
