of Bear Lake and Allegan, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at the Bronson Hospital. Mr. Benavides was born April 4, 1950, in Newgulf, Texas, the son of the late, Librado and Beatrice (Gonzales) Benavides. Ricardo was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps., serving in Vietnam, he was a lifetime member of the VFW Post in Arcadia, and had worked for over 10 years with the Veteran Center in Lincoln Park, as a Counselor. Surviving are his wife, Linda, his son, Ricardo Benavides of Detroit, 2 brothers; Rene and Paula of Mt Clemens, and Rolando and Aida of Detroit, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his 5 brothers. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday, May 20, from 2-4 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 am. Pastor Kevin Smith will officiate. Military graveside services will be held at Mallory Cemetery, Trowbridge Twp. Memorials may be made to Ricardo's family, C/O, his wife, Linda.
