BREWER, Reo R., Hopkins, died Wednesday, January 29, 2003 at Metropolitan Hospital in Grand Rapids. Mr. Brewer was born February 5, 1915 in Hopkins the son of Fredrick Ray & Mariam Duryea Brewer. Mr. Brewer was employed at the Hopkins Creamery for many years and retired as a field inspector in 1976. After retirement Reo & Violet enjoyed many winters in Florida and summers on Nugent Lake near Baldwin, where he loved to fish & hunt. He will be dearly missed by his friends & family. Surviving are his wife, Violet, whom he married on July 1 1936, 2 sons & their wives; Carroll & Pat Brewer of Burnips and Fred & Pat Brewer of Washington, MI, 3 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren, 5 brothers & sisters in law, Max & Elma Schweikert, Geri Eakins, Oliver & Frieda Duryee, Naomi Weaver, Cleon & Marilyn Duryea, several nieces & nephews. Friends may meet with the family on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, where funeral services will be on Saturday at 2pm. Pastor Stan Vugtenveen from Hopkins Community Reform church will officiate. Interment Maplewood Cemetery, Hopkins Twp. Memorial may be made to the Wayland Area Ambulance or the Hopkins Library
