Obituary

of Hopkins, died Tuesday, September 20, 2011, at the Bronson Methodist Hospital. Mr. Wamhoff was born May 17, 1922, in Hopkins Twp., the son of Charles and Edith (Nicolai) Wamhoff. Raymond loved his Lord, his family, his Church and his farm. He was a lifelong dairy farmer in the Hopkins area, and was a member of the Michigan Milk Producers, and the Hopkins Farm Bureau. Raymond was a lifelong member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church and served as Church Treasurer, Elder, and sat on the Church School Board. He also was active in Township politics, and served on the Hopkins Twp. Board for 40 years, and the Zoning and Planning Board. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Irma I. (Oster) Wamhoff, 4 children; Daniel and Gwen Wamhoff of Midland, Kathleen and Robert Scofield of Chicago, Charles and Barbara Wamhoff of Hopkins, and Jayne and Robert Moore of Douglas; 17 grandchildren; Timothy Wamhoff and his fiancee Donna Smith , Edward and Deanna Wamhoff, Paul Wamhoff, Stephen Wamhoff, John Wamhoff, Daniel Scofield, Amanda Moore, Ashley Moore, Christina Moore, Madelyn Moore, Robert Moore II and his fiancee Katie "Eunji", Stephanie Moore, Melissa Moore, Craig and Lori Lang, Andrea and Steven Price, and Robert Scofield Jr., 9 great grandchildren; Braden, Cole, Mason, Alex, Lydia, Rebecca, Bella, Kaela, and Kourtney, 3 sisters; Norma TerAvest, Winona Langen, and Marcia Jacoby, his brother, Carroll and Marlene Wamhoff, many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday, September 25, from 2-5 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11am, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hopkins. Interment Maplewood Cemetery, Hopkins Twp. Memorials may be made to the St. Paul Church Organ Fund, or Wings of Hope Hospice.
