VONBERG, Raymond F., Allegan, died Thursday, March 14, 2002 at the Allegan General Hospital. Mr. VonBerg was born August 11, 1943 in Philadelphia, PA the son of Antoine & Charlotte VonBerg. Ray was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church for the past 12 years. In 1989 he retired from the United States Navy after 29 years of service to his country, he then went to work for the Haworth Plant in Allegan where he was currently employed. Surviving are his wife, Sharon, 6 children; Penny VonBerg, Danny & Jamie VonBerg, David Fuller all of Philadelphia, Mellissa & Joshua VanPatten, Heather Humphrey and Opal & John Haas all of Allegan, 15 grandchildren, 1 brother Peter VonBerg of Philadelphia, several nieces, nephews & cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother Tony & sister Kay Vivian. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday from 2-5 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral srevices will be held on Monday at 11am. Pastor Kevin Barker from New Hope Baptist will officiate. Military Graveside services will be conducted by Otsego Post 3030 at Millgrove Cemetery, Valley Twp. Memorials may be made to the New Hope Baptist Church.
