Leaving a legacy of faith in Jesus Christ, and love and devotion to his wife and family, Raymond Sebright, age 87, of Hudsonville, Michigan, and Palmetto, Florida, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 25, 2010. Mr. Sebright was born July 24, 1922 in Monterey Twp., the son of Leon and Thora (Ball) Sebright. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Ruth Sebright and Marie Keehbaugh, and grandson, Chad Cook. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend, Geneva (Jean) Nakken, married for over 66 years. Also surviving are his four daughters and husbands; Shirley and Gary Cook of Clarksville, TN, Mary and Ed Tolsma of Hudsonville, MI, Joyce and Tony Morgan of Fennville, MI, Jayne and Kevin Brenner of Hopkins, MI, 11 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers; Merton of Hopkins, Donald (Joan) of Martin, and James (Sue) of Allegan. Ray began farming at the age of 16, and continued throughout his life. He owned and operated the Hopkins Elevator, served as a Deacon of the First Baptist Church of Allegan, and was a Hopkins School Board Member. His many hobbies included hunting, fishing, and carpentry. Friends may meet with the family on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 am at the First Baptist Church in Allegan. Pastors James Turner and Roger Walcott will officiate. Private interment will take place at Poplar Hill Cemetery, Monterey Twp.
