Cheshire Twp., Bloomingdale, MI, died Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence, Kalamazoo. Mr. Gifford was born March 6, 1941 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, the son of Lyle and Mae (Novak) Gifford. He had been employed for 15 years at the Boston Police Dept., 18 years at the Allegan Co. Sheriff Dept. and 8 years at S-2 Yachts in Holland. Surviving are his wife, Carol (Consolino); 4 children, Rafael (Sarah) Cabrera of Allegan, Antonia Cabrera of Indiana, Ricardo Cabrera of Decatur, and Rebecca Berry of Holland; 4 grandchildren, Kayla, Emerald, Immanuel, and Nickolas; 1 brother, Donald Gifford of Wisconsin; 2 sisters, Rose Allen of Wisconsin, and Lillian of Virginia. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister, Richard, Lyle, and Francis. Friends may meet with the family from 10 a.m. Friday until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Hospice Chaplain Victor Downing officiating.
