Obituary

of Allegan, died Monday, November 9, 2009 at the Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. Mr. Brennan was born March 9, 1925, in Cheshire Twp., the son of Harry and Gladys (Powers) Brennan. Ray was a Veteran of the United States Army, he fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was a POW. He attended the South Monterey United Methodist Church, and had worked for 25 years with the Wayland Public School System as a custodian. On November 18, 1950 in Hopkins, Ray married Mary Lou Belden who survives, also surviving are his 5 children, Michael and Crystal Brennan of Allegan, Terry of Plainwell, David and Vicky of Allegan, Tim of Fennville, and Marla and Cordell Green of Allegan, 13 grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, 1 sister, Maxine Machin of Ohio, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his 2 brothers, Alton and Jack. Friends may meet with the family on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel,where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 am. Pastor Linda Burton will officiate. Interment at Poplar Hill Cemetery, Monterey Twp. with military honors by Otsego VFW Post 3030. Memorials may be made to the South Monterey UMC.
