Hays, Rachel L., Allegan, died Wednesday, May 28, 2003 at her home. Mrs. Hays was born Oct 21, 1920 in Otsego, the daughter of Earl & Mamie (Tishhouse) Gray. Rachel was a graduate of Otsego High School and of Western Michigan University. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Allegan and also attended the Assembly of God. Rachel taught school at North Ward for over 20 years. Surviving are her husband, Marvin, 2 sons and their spouses; Pastor Paul & Jan Hays of Allegan and David & Terri Hays of IL, 4 grandchildren Tony & Aimee Hays, Joyann & Tim Heath, Linda Hays and Karen Hays, 2 great grandchildren Hunter & Landon. She was preceded in death by her brother, Earl Jr. Friends may meet with the family on Friday from 6-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, www.gordenfuneral.com, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 am. Pastor Paul Hays will officiate. Internment Oakwood Cemetery, Allegan. Memorials may be made to the Dollars for Scholars, Lion's Club or the Church of Choice.
