of Allegan, died Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo. Mrs. Barnes was born June 9, 1929, in Galesburg, the daughter of Carl and Wanda (Clark) Pierman. She attended the Assembly of God Church in Allegan. She was very devoted to her family, a loving wife, mother, and grandma. On September 28, 1946, Phyllis M. Pierman married Leslie E. Barnes, who survives, also surviving are her 5 children; Cheryl and Ron Grinnell, Larry and Linda Barnes, Gary Barnes, Janice and Larry Statler and Terry and Mary Barnes, all of Allegan, 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Doyle and Jackie Pierman of Traverse City, her sister, Elieen Pierce of Portage, 3 sisters-in-law; Marble Pierman of Texas, Carolyn Pierman of Galesburg, and Connie Pierman of Oregon, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her son, Neil, 7 brothers; Olin, Derwyn, Arlyn, Norman, Lynn, Lyle, and Gerald, 2 sisters; Lavola and Joan. Cremation has taken place.
