Philip John Pickin, age 75, of Allegan, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at home. Philip was born on August 3, 1948, in Bradford-on-Avon, England to Ivryn and Winifred Pickin. After finishing school, Philip worked in construction as a trench digger and brick mover. At 16 he took an apprenticeship to become an electrical engineer and received his City & Guild license. He worked in many areas of the country as an electrician, electrical maintenance, and boiler maintenance. In 1977 he married, raised five children and divorced in 1991. Philip married Diane in 1998 and moved to Michigan in 1999 where he worked at Material Transfer & Storage in Allegan until his retirement in 2014. Philip enjoyed spending time with his wife, Diane, bowling, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving is his wife, Diane (Conley) Pickin of Allegan, MI; his children/stepchildren, Jeremy (Rebecca) Tryhorn of Warminister, England, Nicholas (Rachel Knapp) Pickin of Warminister, England, Stuart Pickin of Allegan, MI, Jen (Laura) Hillon of Plymouth, England, Christopher (Shannon) Pickin of Kalamazoo, MI, Philip (Diane) Pickin of Kalamazoo, MI, and Brandon (Amanda) Pickin of Battle Creek, MI; his brother, Kevin (Amanda Penny) Pickin of Warminster, England; and his grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivryn Pickin and Winifred Pickin; brothers, Wilfred Pickin and Brian Pickin; and stepson, Robert Tryhorn.
Philip has been cremated. No memorial service will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
