Obituary

of Allegan, died Monday November 8, 2010, at the Ely Manor Nursing Home in Allegan, Mr. Madalinski was born June 11, 1913 in Sheldon, CT, the son of Jacob and Mary (Puhilska) Madalinski. Philip was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church all of his life, and in later years served as the church custodian. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 2515. He farmed in Cheshire Twp. all of his life and worked for many years at Pullman Industries. He was a gifted musician, and enjoyed playing the banjo, keyboard, concertina and harmonica, which he played 2 days before he passed. Surviving are his 8 children; Rose and Arthur Kenniger of Gobles, Jack and Jean Madalinski of IN, Pat and Bob Young and Phillip and Rhonda Madalinski all of Holland, Sheila and Jeff Clearwater of Pullman, Edward and Jamie Madalinski of Plainwell, James and Roseanne Madalinski and Caroline and Richard Arnsman all of Allegan, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Josephine, a son, Gerald, 2 granddaughters, 1 grandson, 1 great grandson, and 5 brothers and sisters. Friends may meet with the family on Friday from 6-8 pm, at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where the Rosary will be recited at 6 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 11 am at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Alan P. Jorgensen, Celebrant. Interment at the Church Cemetery, Allegan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the "Good Samaritans" Blessed Sacrament Church or Ely Manor Activities Dept.
