Obituary

Age 76, of Allegan, MI passed away on the evening of July 2nd at her family home following a long and very courageous battle with colon cancer. Peg was born in Allegan July 27, 1931 to Harold and Marguerite (Parker) Sebright. She was the 2nd of three daughters. After graduating from Allegan High School, she was married and had four children. She worked at Harding's for fifteen years through the 50's and 60's as a checker and then as a meat wrapper. She was later self-employed cleaning houses. Her life revolved around her family, her parents, her children and her pets. She lost her first born daughter, Kammah in 1962 at four years of age to aplasic anemia. This was the great tragedy of her life and she subsequently wrote many letters of encouragement to other parents who lost children. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. She loved feeding the birds and squirrels, antiquing, sunbathing and keeping her home organized. She was known for her great beauty, both inside and out. She is survived by 3 children, 2 sons, Korree and Kortnee (Abby), both of Allegan and 1 daughter, Koddee Taplin of Lawton; 2 sisters, Betty (Clayton) Foster of Allegan and Judy (Ed) Larson of Hastings; 6 grandchildren, Britni and Kayli Taplin and Parker, Sawyer, Miller and Archer Johnson; along with aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter Kammah, her parents, her nephew, Rory Foster and her son-in-law, Pat Taplin. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Allegan with visitation to follow immediately in the church hall. Peg's ashes will be interred at a later date at Poplar Hill Cemetery in Monterey Township alongside her daughter, Kammah and her parents. In lieu of flowers, Peggy's family asks that memorial contributions be made to The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd or to the family for a memorial contribution in Peggy's name to an animal charity. Arrangements by the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel.
