Heath Twp. Allegan, MI, passed away Friday, September 25, 2009 at her home. Mrs. Clawson was born January 3, 1919 in Watson Twp., the daughter of Elliott and Hazel (Hatch) Ashley. She graduated from Otsego High School in 1936 and attended County Normal College. She was a long-time member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church of Allegan. Surviving are eight children, Shirley and Tom Hoffman, Lavern and Sharron Clawson, Jr., Nancy and Richard Eggleston, Elliott and Jamie Clawson, Ginny and Tony Lombardo, Jeffrey and Beth Clawson, Tim and Kathy Clawson, and Terry and Mary Clawson; daughter-in-law, Sally Clawson; brother-in-law, Lloyd and Louise Clawson; 28 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister, Frank and Donna Ashley, Allan Ashley, and Opal and John Stowe; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lavern Clawson, on November 5, 1997, by three sons, Rodger, Joseph and Dale Clawson, and by one grandson, Kent Lavern Doorn. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where the Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Alan P. Jorgensen, Celebrant. Interment Blessed Sacrament Cemetery.
