Paul Scott Fergusson, 72, of Allegan, MI passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at his home surrounded by family. Born September 5, 1949 in Allegan, he was the only child of the late Floyd Carl and Leona Agnes (Bishop) Fergusson and the husband of Molly Jo (Herwick) Fergusson. Paul was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps where he had served in Vietnam. Following his military service, he went to work for Rockwell International for 18 years. He volunteered for the Otsego Fire Department for 12 years. Paul also spent 25 years as a Corrections Officer for the Allegan County Sheriff's Department. He never really retired and was always on the go. Paul grew up on a farm and had loved helping the neighbors on their farms over the years. In fact, he seemed to always be helping someone with something, especially fixing things. In addition to his wife of 30 years, Molly, he is survived by his children, Scott Fergusson, Jeff Fergusson, Kris Heintz and Hailey (Brian) Baker; his brother-in-law, Robin (Diana) Herwick; grandchildren, Kora, Katelyn, Lillian, Leah, Ayden, Ryley and Charlotte; a special cousin, Gary Barber; his faithful chihuahua friend, Izzy; and several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Floyd and Leona, Paul was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Larry Joe Herwick; and his sister-in-law, Helen (Larry) Morris. Paul's family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of the VA Medical Center in Ann Arbor for the kind, compassionate and dedicated care they provided. The family will receive friends at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, on Monday, July 25, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A memorial service will begin at 12:00 PM.
