Otis Owen Hunt, Jr., 84 of Allegan, Michigan, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2022 at the Wings Home in Allegan, Michigan. Born September 21, 1937 in Walton, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Otis and Gracie (Beard) Hunt. Owen (as most people know him by) served honorably in the United States Air Force as a medic paratrooper during the Korean Conflict. After the service, he became a truck driver for Overland Trucking and later the manager of a battery company. Owen loved to walk around town and was always so friendly to those he met on the way. He had a beautiful smile and such a friendly disposition, that you couldn't help but like him and feel at ease with him. He was a huge University of Michigan fan. Owen was an amazing father, grandfather and great-grandfather and loved spending time with his family. He leaves them with treasured memories of special times spent together. Owen is survived by his son, A. Jeff (Chantell) Hunt; his daughter, Andrea (Chris) Jones; three grandchildren, Tyler Hunt, Marley Ness and Brittany Potts; two great-grandchildren, Leah Swartz and Oliver Potts; longtime companion, Margie Bradley; his sister-in-law, Janice Hunt Tuffelmire; and nephew, Ryan Hunt. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Hunt. The family will meet with friends at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, on Friday, July 29, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at which time the Celebration of Life service will begin at 11:00 AM. Inurnment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Allegan, Michigan. A luncheon will be held at the Hartman Conference Center, 690 N Eastern Ave, Allegan, MI 49010 directly following the graveside service. Memorial donations may be made in Owen's name to Wings of Hope Hospice, 530 Linn Street, Allegan, Michigan 49010.
